Bits and Pieces

I have a handful of important things to tell you about today, so while this won't be the most visually exciting post it is important.

1) I have had to enable comment moderation. This happened for 2 reasons a) I was getting a lot of spam posted that took forever to delete and b) while I won't sanitize my comments section and I encourage discussion and different opinions, disparaging statements about me, my family (especially my children), my writing style and the topics I cover are simply not allowed. The comment left by a very brave "anonymous" person telling me that my twins look like they have severe disabilities, retardation and behavioral problems was the last straw. I'm sorry that I have to do it but this is getting ridiculous and it's taking precious time to delete the garbage that I don't want to spend being tied down in front of the computer.

2) Facebook. It's getting crazy over there y'all. The blog currently has 386 followers and I'm suspicious that most of them don't see everything we are posting so they are missing out on good content, giveaways and everything else in between. I'm going to say this here just in case, if you want to see posts and such on your Facebook wall from Cooke's Frontier, it's absolutely important that you occasionally (like once or twice a week) like or comment on something. This makes Facebook away that you are interacting with the page and it will show up regularly in your newsfeed. That's the best I can do....I feel sorry for those of you who are emailing me and wondering why they aren't seeing posts from me. This is the best way I know of to handle it.

3) I'm still looking for people who want to do an occasional guest post. There are days when I am going to b gone and I want to make sure that there is still content on the blog that's new and interesting. 4) Lastly, I thank all of you for reading. The vast majority of you are fabulous and I love being able to interact with you. I'm sorry that it lately I've been having to have a lot of "this is my page I can do what I want" kind of talks here and on Facebook. I think it's all part of growing pains,which I am very grateful for, but you all have to understand that some things are never going to be ok with me (see number 1 above) and I can't let them happen.

Thank you all for being part of this fun ride and for sticking with me through the ups and downs. Tomorrow we'll have a happy post about something much better than this :)
