Banana Split Ice Cream Pie

Today is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! To celebrate, I thought I would show you an ice cream pie that I have made a few times and that my family loves. You can change the flavors of ice cream that you use, depending on what you like, but since it is Chocolate Ice Cream Day I used chocolate :)

Get a graham cracker or chocolate cookie crust.

Layer 1/2 of the carton of ice cream in the bottom.

Add a liberal layer of sliced bananas.

Now chocolate syrup.

The other 1/2 of the ice cream.

Arrange some strawberries so that they look nice to you. Add some more chocolate syrup and whipped cream. You could also add nuts here if you'd like.

Freeze if for at least 2 hours. When you are ready to slice it, let it sit out for about 30 minutes to make life easier on yourself. Your pie won't get all melty because you won't be fending off little fingers, taking pictures and pleading with your children to PLEASE. STOP. FIGHTING.

You could use any fruits, ice creams and toppings that you wanted and have a whole different pie each time. Or you could blend the fruits with the ice cream (kind of like a milkshake) and have your layers be different flavors. I'm just too lazy to clean the blender, so I do it like this :)

I hope you all take the time today to have a scoop of chocolate ice cream. This is a holiday that no one should miss celebrating!!!

P.S.~ Have you entered to win our prize pack from Lucky Leaf? Click here to go to the giveaway post! :) Thanks!

  2. Will a fudgecicle count? Cause otherwise I gotta break out the little cell from the downstairs freezer. It's all ready to churn.
