Easy Pumpkin Paper Craft

Isn't that cute? They were also fairly quick and easy, they would make a good nap time craft for older kids or a good after dinner craft for the whole family.

The supplies are simple and you should have them all hanging around anyway. Strips of orange paper, a and empty TP tube (cut in half), scissors, glue and a couple of green leaves cut from construction paper.

Cut a piece of paper to fit the width of your tube. Cover it in glue and roll it up, trimming as necessary.

Cut a piece of construction paper into strips, about 1/2 inch wide, cut off about 1 inch from the length. Glue the strips of paper to the inside of one end of the tube, being careful to get close but not to overlap.

Flip it over like so, right now it should look like a orange squid. Carefully bring one strip up and put a dot of glue on it. Bring another strip up and continue to repeat until all the strips are glued together at the top.

If I was smart, I would have used a stapler to affix the strips to the inside and to each other at the top. But, I used glue and it worked ok this time, you just have to be very patient with it and keep sticking things down. Once the strips are glued, go back to the underside and glue a strip of paper in the alternating spots, bring them up and glue at the top like last time.

See how much fuller it got? It's looking like a pumpkin! Next, glue on your leaves.

It's a really cute little craft and would look so nice to have a whole row of these little paper pumpkins down the center of your table for Thanksgiving or on Halloween.
