  1. hello charley! i just finished listening to your podcast on the survival mom show and i loved it. i didn't catch last weeks show about the grassfed vs grainfed beef podcast, but i do want to tell you that i think it is wonderful. i though my families budget of $550 a month was tight, and we only have 5! i don't know how you do it, and i would LOVE for you to share whatever secrets you have with me if you wouldn't mind. i love the look of your super cute blog and am glad you are 'giddy' over it! i just recently caught the 'prepper' bug and am like you. i do what i can to make all the food we eat because the stuff they put in all the processed foods freaks me out! so happy to have finally listened to you podcast and rest assured that i will be back! soooo, how do you do it? make all your food from scratch and work with such a limited budget?

  2. Hello Shelby! I'm so glad you tuned in and liked what you heard :) How do I do it....well, a lot of ways I guess. You're right, I make everything from scratch. We stretch one meal into 2 or 3 by creatively using leftovers or parts of the meal to make a new one. My table looks a lot like tables from the teens, 20's, 30's and 40's I think. We don't eat meat as a main dish for every meal. I bake all of our bread, cookies, cakes, etc. We have 2 milk cows so I make all of our own dairy products PLUS we have all of the milk we can drink. Soup is on our menu at least once a week and is homemade. There are more things I do, but this is getting long! If you'd like, you can email me at cookesfrontier@yahoo.com and we can chat more! Thanks so much!!!
