Well, I won't make you guess any more.

I'm making laundry soap!

Did you know you can make your own laundry soap? It's cheap, fast and, best of all, it cleans really well.

I have a front loading washing machine, so the laundry soap for it can be very expensive when you have to do as much laundry as I do. This way I can make it up into a concentrate and it will wash approximately 630+ loads of laundry.

That's a lot of loads of clothes.

Yes, it costs a little up front to buy the things that you need to make it, but it's still less than I would pay for 1 months worth of commercial laundry soap.

If you would like to make your own laundry soap, here are the directions:

4 cups hot tap water
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (NOT baking soda)
½ Cup Borax
- Grate bar of soap and add to pan with hot water. Stir over medium heat until soap is melted.
-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser full of the soap. Shake before each use. (will gel)

I got this from this website, but there are a lot of recipes out there if you want to look around. We have had very good luck with this one, and as some of our family has some reactions to scents, we like to make this one. It is unscented and cleans out (sometimes VERY dirty) clothes really well.
