An Observation

Is the kitchen the heart of your home? Has the kitchen lost this status as more and more families choose not to cook, or to cook convenience meal, most nights?

The kitchen is the heart of our home.

Period.

Everything we do begins or ends in the kitchen. Meals are prepared, treat are baked, ouchies are mended, food is preserved to sustain us over the long winter, experiments are conducted and achievements are proudly displayed. All in out kitchen.

But you know what? As true as this is, if my kitchen isn't clean when I get up, I don't feel like doing anything in it.

I almost took a picture of what my kitchen looks like and put it on here just to shame myself into doing a better job.

If I wake up to a sparkling kitchen, I am ready for the day. I want to go, to get things done, to make an amazing meal for my family.

BUT.

If it is dirty, I procrastinate, put off and otherwise prevent my day from beginning in a productive day.

That was a lot of "p"s.

That's what's going on today. My kitchen is a mess, and I don't want to do anything. But it was a mess yesterday and I didn't do anything. So 2 days of nothing equals a monumental mess.

So, I'm wondering. Do you have a room in the house that determines your mood based on it's state of cleanliness? Or am I just a freak of nature?

I'm going to guess freak.
