It gets me everytime.
Yesterday, I went to the big city to get my Kevins perscription filled. (He had some dental work done.) While I was waiting, I went down to the Co-Op to get some guinea pig food. When I got there they had chicks. Fluffy, puffy, peeping, chirping. Oh, and ducks, pheasants and banty chickens. I was in baby animal heaven. We were going to get a couple chickens for the garden this year anyway, so I just scooped me up four lil babies and scurried home. They are currently loving on my dryer, under the lights. I chose a Rhode Island Red hen, a Silver Laced Wyandotte and two Buff Orpingtons. Those are my favorite I think, I love their soft tan color and easygoing disposition. Not that the rhody isn't pretty, they are. And the wyandottes are pretty with their blackfeathers tipped in white. But those Orpingtons, they speak to me, man. Love, love, love them. Anyway, this is just another sign that spring is on its way. I love to have chickens, and they give me something to do. As if I don't have enough to do already! :)
