Apple Blossom Time
My trees are blooming! I am so very happy to see that our extensive pruning this year seems to have paid off. There are quite a lot less blooms than in previous years, but I am hoping that results in larger apples. I have plans for those little beauties too. Apple sauce, apple butter, dried apple slices and dried apple pies, fresh apple pies, apples right from the tree and the big one: apple cider. I'm especially looking forward to having my own cider to mull in the wintertime. So, as you can see, I have big plans for my little apple tree. It really is amazing because when we moved here it was little more than a stick and now its top is nearly to the second story window. This year it should provide a bit more shade for the lawn and give the kids a place to sit and play. I love my apple tree. If it ever stops raining I will get out there to take a picture of the blossoms before they are all gone. So tell me, what fruit trees do you have/wish you had? What would you do/ do you do with your fruity goodness???
