The lady at the walmarts thinks

That I'm a freak. She is always my check-out lady. I get her every weekend when I grocery shop. She always asks me a lot of questions about what I'm buying. She doesn't cook much I guess, because she didn't know what I would do with cornmeal. When I said I was going to make cornbread she wanted to know why I didn't just buy it in a box. Today I bought 25 lbs of flour. She was stumped. She wanted to know why I didn't just take the help that the grocery store gave me. I was kind of excited to be able to tell her that feeding my family homemade food was a goal of mine. I told her that I enjoyed cooking and baking and that I liked having control over quality of ingredients. I also had the chance to point out that my family of six would often require many boxes of something and that would be expensive. It looked like she was considering my points when she said to me "There's no way I could do it." Now she just thinks I'm a wierdo, but that's ok. My kids already think I'm crazy.
